My doctor said I was 4cm at my morning appointment on Tuesday morning. I started having contractions at 4:30pm that night. They got VERY painful and close together by about 7:00pm. At 9:30pm I was admitted to St. Joe's hospital. By 12:30am I had an epidural. By 3:00 I got a little pitocin and changed from 7cm to 9.5 cm by 4:30 am. By 5:30 the doctor on call came in and said I was 10cm and broke my water. I pushed and pushed and pushed a few rounds and Maverick arrived at 5:42am on Wednesday at January 27th hollering and screaming. He has strawberry blonde hair and big blue eyes. We are so excited. I'm still in the hospital until Friday morning with the wonderful staff here.

He's almost here...

My doctor said I am 3cm dilated as of Friday. She predicts the end of this week. Since the cowboys are no longer in the playoffs I think my family will allow me to go into labor. Uncle Jason was worried. Here are some pictures of his room and my tummy...

We got to take home about two thirds of this cake and have been slowy trying to give it away

We had a great Christmas. I'm busy back at work and trying to arrange all my plans for the sub to come in before Maverick comes. I went to the doctor on Tuesday and she said I'm 2 cm dilated but it could still be 2-3 weeks. We're getting excited. I know it would be best if he came early February but I'm so uncomfortable I really wouldn't mind if it was next week.

bigger and bigger

I'm getting bigger! And there's a lot of little things I can't do anymore in addition to sleeping at night. Like when I drop something it usually take me and extra minute or two to bend down and pick it up accompanied by an automatic groan. I often look around for Ryan or one of my students at school to assist me at times. I have no idea how people manage being pregnant when they already have a toddler or two. I have great respect for you mom and Haley and all the other moms in the world.
My doctor says everything is looking good. Maverick is still expected to come in late January and he is positioned with his head in my lower left side and butt in my upper right. Hopefully as we get closer he will straighten out a bit.
So Ryan and I are very blessed to have about 2 weeks off for Christmas! We can't wait to be in Corpus with our family! especially sweet Will Will and Landry!

Maverick Prediction

I got home from work today and saw our stack of mail on the kitchen table. And i immediately saw this picture on a gymboree coupon and thought THIS IS WHAT MAVERICK WILL LOOK LIKE!!! He's got the cooper big head and ryan's cute little face. Anyways, I know this is weird but I just wanted to share...we'll see if my prediction turns out right. Also, only 9 and 1/2 more days of school till Christmas break! I'm excited =)
